The Kodak Challenge is a first-of-its-kind competition for PGA TOUR players, who must play at least 18 of the 30 Kodak Challenge holes to be eligible to win. A player's lowest score relative to par on his best 18 Kodak Challenge holes will be counted. The player with the lowest cumulative score relative to par wins $1 million and the Kodak Challenge trophy.

2010 KODAK CHALLENGE: The 2010 Kodak Challenge schedule continues this week on hole No. 17 at the Bob Hope Classic. The second year of the competition includes 21 of the original 30 holes, with two tournaments joining the Kodak Challenge: No. 15 at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, N.C., site of the Quail Hollow Championship; and No. 14 at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, home of the Memorial Tournament presented by Morgan Stanley.

The remaining new holes appear at returning tournaments that move to new courses and two existing courses that have changed holes. Twenty-nine of the 30 Kodak Challenge tournaments for 2010 have been finalized. An announcement on the 30th tournament will be made in the near future.

THIS WEEK'S HOLE: The par-3, 130-yard 17th at the Palmer Private Course at PGA West

DESCRIPTION: Proper position is a must on this beautiful, yet dangerous little hole. The 130-yard No 17 offers a panoramic view of PGA West and its surrounding mountains. The deep, narrow green is well bunkered on the left and protected by rocks on the right side. Players must watch the pin placement carefully, as this tricky green slopes right to left towards a nearby canal. (Click here for tour)

First round
Boo Weekley sank a dramatic 33-foot chip shot to score one of the few birdies today on Kodak Challenge hole No. 17 at the Palmer Private Course at PGA West. Of the 32 pros to play hole No. 17 at the Bob Hope Classic Wednesday, only five scored birdies.

In addition to Weekley, Alex Cejka, J.P. Hayes, Derek Lamely and Mike Weir carded deuces on the picturesque 130-yard par 3, which is the shortest hole on the 2010 Kodak Challenge schedule.

Hole No. 17 at the Palmer Private Course at the Bob Hope Classic is the second of 30 Kodak Challenge holes in the 2010 PGA TOUR this season.

During the Bob Hope Classic's Pro-Am format, pros will play the Kodak Challenge hole No. 17 once during the first three rounds. Sunday's final round will also be held on the Palmer Private Course.

During Wednesday's round, five birdies, 19 pars, seven bogeys and one double bogey were recorded.

The Bob Hope Classic marks the first Kodak Challenge title defense for 2009 champion Kevin Streelman. Streelman claimed the inaugural Kodak Challenge title at the PGA TOURs final event of the 2009 season, the Childrens Miracle Network Classic in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Streelman's early-round birdie at No. 17 on the Magnolia Course clinched the Kodak Challenge crown, netting the second-year TOUR professional the Kodak Challenge trophy and the winner-take-all $1 million prize. Streelman is scheduled to play the Palmer Course on Saturday.
Second round
Play on the Kodak Challenge hole No. 17 on the Palmer Private Course at PGA West continued on Friday after rain postponed play on Thursday. Scores on No. 17 at the Bob Hope Classic improved Friday as the rain-soaked course favored the pros on the 130-yard par 3.

Ten of the 32 pros on the Palmer Course birdied No. 17 today, which is the shortest hole on the 2010 Kodak Challenge schedule. Carl Pettersson was the closest to the hole off the tee today, leaving his drive just 7 feet from the cup. Matt Jones netted the longest birdie of the round, sinking a 22-foot putt.

Friday's round on the Kodak Challenge hole included 10 birdies, 21 pars and one double bogey.
Third round
As better weather greeted the pros and their pro-am playing partners at the Bob Hope Classic, the 130-yard par-3 17th lived up to its billing as a deceptively difficult layout. Of the 32 pros playing the Palmer Private Course, only four were able to par the picturesque hole.

Jamie Lovemark, Cameron Beckman, Ben Crane and Daniel Chopra were the lone pros to navigate the tricky narrow green to card birdies. Saturday's round on the Kodak Challenge hole included four birdies, 23 pars, four bogeys and one double bogey.
Fourth round
Kevin Streelman began his Kodak Challenge title defense with one of the few brides Sunday on Kodak Challenge hole No. 17 at the Bob Hope Classic. Streelman's birdie on the par-3 130-yard 17th at the Palmer Private Course at PGA West highlighted an outstanding round for the 2009 Kodak Challenge winner.

Streelman's 8-under score on Sunday was the lowest round of the day; leaving the third-year PGA TOUR pro just five strokes behind leader Bubba Watson.

Streelman's birdie was just one of three deuces carded on the Kodak hole. Rocco Mediate and Brian Davis were the only other pros to master the tricky 130-yard hole on Sunday. Sunday's round on the Kodak Challenge hole included three birdies, 23 pars, five bogeys and one double bogey.
Fifth round
While most of the field played the Kodak Challenge hole at the Bob Hope Classic at par, a quartet of pros carded birdies to join the top of the 2010 Kodak Challenge leaderboard. Brian Gay, Matt Kuchar, Ryan Moore and Bo Van Pelt each carded birdies on the 130-yard par 3 at the Palmer Private Course at PGA West on Monday. The four are tied at 2 under with Paul Casey and Sean O'Hair, who were not in the field at the Bob Hope.

Heath Slocum had the easiest Kodak Challenge birdie of the day after dropping his tee shot just 19 inches from the cup. Slocum's tap-in birdie was one of just 16 deuces scored on the shortest hole of the 2010 Kodak Challenge season. Bob Hope Classic winner Bill Haas also birdied the Kodak Challenge hole on his way to a score of 30 under.

The next Kodak Challenge hole is the par-4 435-yard 17th at the Torrey Pines South Course at the Farmers Insurance Open on Jan. 28-31 in La Jolla, Calif.
