Watson will play Champions Tour's JELD-WEN Tradition

SUNRIVER, Ore. (AP) -- Tom Watson has committed to play in the JELD-WEN Tradition, a major on the Champions Tour.

Watson finished second to Stewart Cink in a playoff at the British Open two weeks ago.

Watson will be making his ninth appearance in the Tradition, the fifth major on the Champions Tour. He won the event in 2003 at the Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club in Aloha.

This year's event will be held Aug. 17-23 at Crosswater Club in Sunriver, Ore.
