Tom Watson won the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf last year with teammate Andy North. As he returns to defend his title, the 12-time Champions Tour winner and 39-time PGA TOUR winner sat down to discuss his favorite meal, snacks and the strangest thing he's ever eaten.

Q. What food always reminds you of home (Kansas City, Mo.)?

TOM WATSON: Well, a barbeque beef brisket sandwich from any of the variety of the great barbeque places in Kansas City.
Q. What's your favorite restaurant, and what do you order there?
WATSON: Well, you know, actually, any restaurant that produces a good pan-fried fried chicken. That's what I order there because that's my favorite meal. It's not the best for my health, but fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans is my birthday dinner. Any time I grew up, on birthdays that what my mom fixed me.
Q. Most memorable meal?
WATSON: Well, I think coming back and having a meal at home after my first semester of college at Stanford. That was my most memorable. Thanksgiving meal, 1967.
Q. Best snack?
WATSON: Fritos.
Q. What's your favorite "competition day" breakfast?
WATSON: The best breakfast is fruit, eggs, smoked salmon and a bagel with cream cheese.
Q. Do you have anything out of the ordinary in your refrigerator at home?
WATSON: No, nothing too unusual. There are a lot of foods that I like. Right now it's deer summer sausage.
Q. What's the most unusual thing you've ever eaten?
WATSON: Baked sparrow in Japan.
Q. Okay. If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
WATSON: Another meal with my mom and dad.
Q. Do you have any favorite family food tradition?
WATSON: Yes. We always have roast beef for dinner on Christmas at about 1:00 p.m. each year.
