NORTON, Mass. -- The 36-hole cut for the 2009 Deutsche Bank Championship came at 1-under 141 with 73 players from a field of 99 professionals.

• After two rounds, Jim Furyk and Sean O'Hair sit atop the leaderboard, dead-locked at 12-under par at the Deutsche Bank Championship in Norton, Mass., the second of four events which comprise the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup.

• O'Hair played his first 13 holes in 8-under en route to a second-round, 7-under 64 to take a share of the 12-under lead with Furyk. O'Hair, who began on the back nine, went B-B-B-P-B-E-B-B on Nos. 15-4 (8-under through eight holes).

• Headed into this week, O'Hair had racked up six top-10 finishes, highlighted by a victory, the third of his career, at the Quail Hollow Championship in early June. He missed the cut at last week's The Barclays, following a pair of 77s in the first two rounds. Last week's missed cut was just his fourth in 20 starts this year.

• Prior to this week, O'Hair had made just 12 birdies in his last three events, the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational, PGA Championship and The Barclays. Through two rounds here, he has already amassed 12 birdies and an eagle.

• O'Hair's 64 matches his lowest round of the year (round two of the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial). His 64 in round two this week falls one stroke shy of his career low of 63, which came in round three of the 2008 Arnold Palmer Invitational.

• This marks the third time in Sean O'Hair's career where he has held at least a share of the 36-hole lead.

O'Hair's previous second-round leads (0 of 2 overall)
Tournament Place Round 1-2 Finish
2005 EDS Byron Nelson Championship Tie Wetterich -9 (66-65) 2
2009 Arnold Palmer Invitational 3 over Gore -7 (67-65) 2

• O'Hair is competing in his fifth Deutsche Bank Championship. He missed the cut in 2008, with his best finish at TPC Boston being a T9 in 2007.

• Despite missing the cut The Barclays, O'Hair sits comfortably in the 16th spot in the FedExCup points race with 1,474 points.

• Furyk, currently No. 18 in the FedExCup standings, maintained his spot at the top of the leaderboard with a 4-under 67 to get to 12-under with O'Hair.

• Furyk, who hit 18 of 18 in greens in regulation on Friday, hit 15 of 18 greens in round two and 10 of 14 fairways, as opposed to 13 of 14 in round one.

• This marks the 16th 36-hole lead of Jim Furyk's career. Of the previous 15, he managed to parlay just the 1995 United Hawaiian Airlines Open and 2003 U.S. Open into victory.

• Furyk extends a flawless record in cuts made at the Deutsche Bank Championship to five-for-five. His 67 in round two also extends his streak of rounds in the 60s to five, dating to round two of 2008.

• Furyk's total of 130 through two rounds equals his lowest opening 36-hole total on TOUR (1996 Las Vegas Invitational, 1997 Byron Nelson Golf Classic, 1999 Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic).

• Furyk has played the par fours at 8-under par through two rounds, which leads the field. It ties his second-lowest score on par 4s through the first two rounds of any tournament.

• The second-round leader/co-leader at the Deutsche Bank Championship carried that lead on to victory three out of six years (Adam Scott in 2003, Vijay Singh in 2004 and Olin Browne in 2005), but has failed to do so the last three years.

• The second-round leader/co-leader has gone on to win 15 of 37 stroke-play events on the PGA TOUR in 2009, most recently Ryan Moore at the Wyndham Championship.

• O'Hair, Goosen and Furyk were paired together for the first 36-holes due to their respective 16th, 17th and 18th positions in the FedExCup standings. The trio combined for a 34-under-par total for the first two rounds.

• Mark Leishman equaled the season's best birdie-eagle streak when he went 6-under (B-B-E-B-B) on Nos. 16-2 during the second round en route to a 9-under 62, one stroke shy of the course record held by Vijay Singh (2006/3rd rd.) and Mike Weir (2008/rd.1). He is the ninth player to perform the feat this season, and the first since John Rollins and Chris Riley -- both performed the feat during the second round of the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open. He trails Furyk and O'Hair by two at 10 under.

• Leishman's 9-under 62 in round two falls two strokes shy of his career best on any tour. On the Von Nida Tour in Australia, he fired an opening-round 60 at the 2006 Toyota Southern Classic en route to a seven-stroke win.

• Last year's runner-up Mike Weir, who fired a 10-under 61 in the first round in 2008, followed an opening-round 3-under 68 with a 5-under 66 in round-two to get to 9-under, just three off the 12-under lead. Weir is competing in his third Deutsche Bank Championship.

Pat Perez enjoyed a strong showing in round two with a 6-under 65 which included two eagles in a three-hole stretch, the par-5 18th and par-five 2nd. The 65 moved him to 7-under for the tournament. Perez becomes the 11th player to achieve the feat:

Year Player Holes Round
2003 Garrett Willis Nos. 2, 18 second round
Adam Scott Nos. 2, 18 second round
2004 Ryan Palmer Nos. 2, 7 first round
2006 Tiger Woods Nos. 2, 7 fourth round
2007 Justin Leonard Nos. 7, 18 fourth round
Angel Cabrera Nos. 2, 18 second round
2008 Tim Clark Nos. 2, 4 second round
Trevor Immelman Nos. 2, 18 second round
Hunter Mahan Nos. 4, 18 second round
Chad Campbell Nos. 4, 18 fourth round
2009 Pat Perez Nos. 2, 18 second round

• Senden recorded the third double eagle of the 2009 season in round two on the 562-yard par-five second hole. Senden used a 4-iron from 250 yards to achieve the feat. This season's other two double eagles belong to Matthew Borchert (No. 14/Rd.2/Valero Texas Open) and Paul Lawrie (No. 7/Rd.4/British Open Championship).

Ryuji Imada, No. 99 on the FedExCup standings, followed up his opening round 3-over 74 with a 5-under 66, including six birdies in his first seven holes, to make the 36-hole cut and have a chance to advance to next week's BMW Championship. His 30 on the front nine ties the low front nine at the Deutsche Bank Championship.

• The par-4 fifth hole played the toughest again on Saturday with a 4.364 average. The par-5 2nd hole was the easiest at 4.414.

• Among the notables who missed the cut were Stewart Cink, Heath Slocum, Rory Sabbatini, Ernie Els and Fred Couples.
