On this relatively short par 4, avoid the fairway bunkers that frame the landing area. A simple, mid-to short-iron approach remains. Don't miss the green however; the bunker left and water right await any mis-hits. This could be a great birdie opportunity. 2008: 0 eagles, 26 birdies, 240 pars, 113 bogeys, 27 double bogeys, 3 others. |

Atunyote's longest par 5 requires three great shots. You must negotiate sand left and water right. The landing areas for the tee shot and second shot are generous. The shot to this very undulating green can be tricky. Proper club selection is needed to avoid the large greenside bunkers. 2008: 7 eagles, 155 birdies, 215 pars, 29 bogey, 3 others. |

| Course origins |
| Atunyote is an Oneida word that means "eagle." The parkland course is highlighted by spacious fairways, large undulating greens and steep-faced bunkers that are hallmarks of a Fazio design. Other notable features include a preserved deadwood marsh, a rock formation and several lakes, streams and small waterfalls. |
| The largest body of water, measuring 13 acres, runs along three fairways, including the dramatic finishing hole. The property is located in a secluded setting several miles from the resort, creating the ambiance of an upscale country club. Guests enter the property through a custom-designed and crafted iron gate and then traverse a winding two-mile entryway passing along portions of the course, wetlands and forested areas. |
| The memorable golfing experience begins and ends at the New England-style clubhouse, which is meticulously appointed to provide both luxury and comfort. It houses the players' lounge, locker facilities, pro shop, restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the course, and a private dining/meeting area. The site also includes a practice area with driving range and short game area. -- Source: Golf Course Superintendents Association of America |
