The PGA TOUR continues its Florida Swing this week at the Transitions Championship. Here's how the PGATOUR.COM experts sized up the top contenders:

EXPERT PICKS How it works: Our 10 experts from PGATOUR.COM select the player they think will win this week's event. By using a draft process, no two picks can be the same. | Expert picks: Transitions Championship |
Mark Spoor |
JIM FURYK. I know. We've been saying he's overdue for a victory for what seems like forever now. However, his third-place run last weekend at Doral is all the proof I need that Furyk is ready to win now. |
| |
Helen Ross |
SEAN O'HAIR. O'Hair, who hasn't finished outside the top 25 in six starts this season, is a victory waiting to happen. He tied for 13th last week at Doral, too, despite playing his final two holes in 6 over. |
| If Ross had the top pick ... O'Hair |
Ryan Smithson |
K.J. CHOI. Because I am still last in the standings, I planned on picking Furyk every week I could to catch up, but Spoor derailed that plan pretty quickly.
| If Smithson had the top pick ... Furyk |
Lauren Deason |
ADAM SCOTT. Scott, one of the top young golfers in the field and on TOUR, hasn't garnered much attention for his on-course performance this season. But he did earn a runner-up finish in late January, so he's still got what it takes to win. |
| If Deason had the top pick ... Furyk |
Brian Wacker |
DAVID TOMS. He's quietly put together three top-six finishes in five events this season and has the accuracy needed for one of the toughest tracks these guys will see all year. |
| If Wacker had the top pick ... O'Hair |
Win McMurry |
KENNY PERRY. His game continues to look solid. Perry racked up another top-10 this season with a tie for ninth last week at Doral. All five of his starts in this event have produced top-30 finishes. |
| If McMurry had the top pick ... Perry |
T.J. Auclair |
ZACH JOHNSON. The former Masters champ is off to a great start in 2009 with four top-17 starts in six starts, highlighted by a win at the Sony Open in Hawaii. I like him on the most difficult courses the TOUR has to offer and Copperhead is one of those.
| If Auclair had the top pick ... O'Hair |
Ceri Mobley |
MARK CALCAVECCHIA. In Calc's last three starts, he's racked up a T4, a T6 and a T22, so he's coming in strong to a tournament he won two years ago. Please play well Calc. Please.
| If Mobley had the top pick ... Choi |
Mike McAllister |
CHARLEY HOFFMAN. Thought about going with the hot-hand Nick Watney here, but Hoffman has been nearly as hot this season (five top 20s in six starts). Copperhead hasn't been kind to him, but I think he'll figure it out this week. |
| If McAllister had the top pick ... O'Hair |
John Swantek |
ROD PAMPLING. The 2006 champion at Bay Hill obviously plays tough, windy Florida courses well. He's had a T8 and T6 in his last two trips to Tampa, and the Aussie brings some form after a top 10 at Doral last week. |
| If Swantek had the top pick ... Furyk |
LAST WEEK: Mark Spoor picked Phil Mickelson last week, so he moved up in the standings when Lefty won at Doral. Each week, we'll update the standings based on the FedExCup points accumulated by the players selected by our experts. Here's how it stands after Week 10:
