Mike Weir: 27th in FedExCup points (240 points after reset) Weir has played consistently well throughout the year and has never been out of the top 30 in FedExCup points since his season-opening tie for third at the 50th Bob Hope Classic (where he shot s 62 in the first round). Weir has five top-10 finishes in 2009, including a season-best second at the rain-shortened AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Weir, an eight-time PGA TOUR winner, is looking for his first victory since the 2007 Fry's Electronics Open. He will be making his fifth appearance in The Presidents Cup for the International Team next month. His tie for sixth at THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola last year moved Weir to a sixth-place finish in the final FedExCup standings. He did not advance to THE TOUR Championship in 2007 (eliminated from the Playoffs after the Deutsche Bank Championship and finished No. 87 in FedExCup points). |

| Quick analysis |
| He won the 2001 TOUR Championship when it was played at Champions in Houson, and he tied for sixth last year at East Lake. So Weir should take some confidence to Atlanta as he seeks his first victory since 2007. He came close early in the year with a tie for third at the 50th Bob Hope Classic in his season's debut and second at Pebble Beach. The talented Canadian hasn't finished higher than 10th since, though, so maybe East Lake will have good vibes. -- Helen Ross |
