LUCAS GLOVER: 20th in FedExCup points (310 after reset) Glover had never finished in the top 10 at a major championship in his career, but that made no difference to him at the rain-soaked U.S. Open. Glover resumed the final round on Monday morning tied for the lead with Ricky Barnes. He dropped three strokes in the first nine holes but rallied to win the title, his second on the PGA TOUR. In addition to his breakthrough major championship victory at Bethpage State Park in June, Glover has four other top-five finishes on his 2009 resume, including a solo fifth at the PGA Championship. Glover was named as a Captain's Pick to the 2009 U.S. Presidents Cup Team (as he was in 2007). He has posted four additional top-10 finishes this season, including ties for second at the Quail Hollow Championship and third at the Buick Invitational. He has not participated in THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola since the inception of the FedExCup, as he was 49th in points after the BMW Championship last year and 35th in points after the BMW Championship in 2007. His best finish in two starts at THE TOUR Championship, pre-FedExCup, was a tie for eighth in 2006. |

| Quick analysis |
| The U.S. Open champ started the Playoffs ranked fifth in the FedExCup standings. He has honored his commitments and played a ton since he won at Bethpage, including the last six weeks straight. Among those was solo fifth at the PGA Championship that came with a bonus -- that night Fred Couples called Glover and told him he was picking him for The Presidents Cup. Wonder what a rested Glover can do at East Lake to head to Harding Park on a positive note? -- Helen Ross |
