HARTFORD, Conn. -- Zach Johnson, who is currently in first place in the FedExCup points race, and two popular players with multiple PGA TOUR victories, David Toms and Chris DiMarco, have officially committed to compete in the Travelers Championship, Connecticut's PGA TOUR event. The tournament will be held June 22-28, 2009 at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn.

"Zach, David and Chris are welcome additions to our field," said Nathan Grube, tournament director. "We are quite pleased with the quality of competition that our player field is shaping up to deliver this year. When you bring in players like Zach, who is performing very well this season, and consistently strong players like David and Chris, combined with the other top performers in our field such as Sergio and Vijay, the result is sure to be a very exciting week for fans."

Johnson, Toms and DiMarco join a competitive player field that is developing to be one of the best Connecticut has experienced. The tournament will feature world No. 4 ranked player Sergio Garcia, No. 6 ranked player Kenny Perry and No. 9 ranked player and reigning FedExCup champion Vijay Singh. Also set to compete are defending champion Stewart Cink, Anthony Kim, a rising star on the PGA TOUR, and additional popular players such as Stuart Appleby, Hunter Mahan and Sean O'Hair.

Current FedExCup leader Zach Johnson has six PGA TOUR victories to his name, including the 2007 Masters Tournament, as well as victories this season at the Sony Open in Hawaii and the Valero Texas Open. Last month, Johnson sank a 10-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole to beat James Driscoll and successfully defend his Valero Texas Open title, which resulted in him surpassing Geoff Ogilvy and Phil Mickelson to the top position in the FedExCup points race. At the Valero Texas open, Johnson shot a third-round 60, which was the second of his career (third round, 2007 TOUR Championship), making him the only player in PGA TOUR history to record multiple rounds of 60.

With five top-10 finishes and an additional two in the top-25 this season, David Toms is currently at the No. 19 position in the FedExCup points race. Toms is a twelve-time winner on the PGA TOUR, including one major victory at the 2001 PGA Championship, and has been a member of three Ryder Cup teams and three Presidents Cup teams.

Chris DiMarco is a three-time winner on the PGA TOUR and has been a member of two Ryder Cup teams and two Presidents Cup teams. This season, DiMarco has had two top-25 finishes, including the Northern Trust open, where he tied for 13th.

Complementing an exciting week of PGA TOUR golf, the Travelers Championship will offer a variety of new fan enhancements this year including a new Fan Zone on the course, a special Women's Day program on Thursday, the Michelob ULTRA 19th Hole Concert Series to be held immediately following play on Friday and Saturday and more.
