OAKVILLE, Ontario (AP) -- Mike Weir has aced the fourth hole to move within three strokes of the lead during the third round of the rain-delayed RBC Canadian Open.

Trying to become the first Canadian winner in the national championship since Pat Fletcher in 1954, Weir used a 4-iron on the 200-yard hole Sunday.

The ace was the seventh of the week at Glen Abbey, the most since the PGA TOUR began keeping extensive records in 1971. There were five in the 2004 John Deere Classic.

After opening with rounds of 71 and 67, Weir birdied the first hole and was 10 under after the ace.
