Bo Van Pelt picked up his first PGA TOUR victory in his 229th start over John Mallinger in a two-hole playoff at the U.S. Bank Championship.

• Van Pelt moves from 70th to 40th in the FedExCup standings, while Mallinger moves from 45th to 34th. Steve Stricker, based on his T52 at the British Open takes over the FedExCup lead over Tiger Woods by eight points.

• Van Pelt won in his eighth start at the U.S. Bank Championship. Prior to his win, his best finish in Milwaukee was T7 in 2004.

• Prior to his win, Van Pelt had one career second-place finish and two third-place finishes on TOUR. Van Pelt's second-place finish came at the 2008 Puerto Rico Open presented by Banco Popular.

• Van Pelt's 64 was his second-best career score in the final round. He recorded a 63 in the final round of the 2002 U.S. Bank Championship to finish T27. He also had a 64 at the 2007 Travelers Championship to finish T6.

• Prior to the U.S. Bank Championship, Mallinger's career-best finish in 80 TOUR events was third, which he accomplished six times. His last third-place finish was earlier this year at THE PLAYERS Championship.

• Mallinger and Van Pelt appeared in their first playoff on the PGA TOUR. Van Pelt lost his only playoff to Ben Crane on the Nationwide Tour in 2001.

• The final events of the Regular Season take on added significance for those on the bubble, given the fact that the field for the first Playoff event (The Barclays) has been reduced from 144 to 125 players, and the field for the second Playoff event (Deutsche Bank Championship) has been reduced from 120 to 100 players. With his T7 finish, Spencer Levin moved into the 125th spot in the FedExCup standings. Nicholas Thompson is No. 126.

Jerry Kelly recorded his fourth top-3 finish in his 16th appearance at the U.S. Bank Championship.

• This was the eighth playoff in U.S. Bank Championship history and the first since Shigeki Maruyama defeated Charles Howell III in 2001.

• This was the seventh playoff of the season on the PGA TOUR and the second of the day with Stewart Cink defeating Tom Watson in the British Open.

Dicky Pride (T4), who turned 40 on Wednesday, recorded his best finish since the 2007 Ginn sur Mer Classic (4th).

Jeff Klauk (T4) notched his second career top-4 finish. Klauk finished solo fourth earlier this year at the Honda Classic. Klauk moves to 52nd in the FedExCup standings.

Tim Petrovic shot a final-round 63 to match his career-low round from the 2003 Phoenix Open.

• With his T7 finish, Petrovic notches his fourth top-10 of the season. For his career, Petrovic has only recorded four top 10s in a season one other time (2003).

• Levin turned in a TOUR career-low 7-under 63 in the final-round to finish a career-best T7. This season, Levin has recorded four top-25 finishes.

• With three rounds in the 60s this week, Levin has now scored in the 60s in 13 of his last 18 rounds.

• Once again it took four rounds in the 60s to win the 2009 U.S. Bank Championship. Scott Hoch (1995 and 1997) is the only player to card a round in the 70s and go on to win the event in the 15-year history at Brown Deere Park. Below are the round-by-rounds scores of the two players in the playoff:

Van Pelt 67-68-68-64--267
Mallinger 70-66-66-65--267

• The tournament record for largest comeback after 54-holes is five strokes by Jim Gallagher Jr. in 1990. Since that time the 54-hole leader has gone on to win nine of 19 times. Van Pelt was four strokes back entering the final-round.
