The first groups are ready to tee off in Round 3 at the BMW Championship. Here's how it sets up:

Groups We're Watching
Tee time Players
1:45 p.m. ET, Hole No. 1 Tiger Woods, Mark Wilson
The two leaders need to continue to post rounds in the 60s to stay ahead of the pack.
1:35 p.m. ET, Hole No. 1 Padraig Harrington, Rory Sabbatini
Sabbatini can get to East Lake with two more rounds like his Thursday round, but he needs to keep his foot on the gas.
1:05 p.m. ET, Hole No. 1 Sean O'Hair, Zach Johnson
Both players improved from their first rounds and can build towards a win with an impressive round Saturday.

Mark Wilson finds himself in a position that he wanted. I spoke to him last week after he knew he would make the cut at the Deutsche Bank Championship. Unlike some other players, he decided he was going to play the next six rounds, and he has certainly done so at a high level. The Wheaton, Ill., resident is sleeping in his own bed this week, and it is paying off. He will be paired with Tiger Woods in the final group for the third round, and he can continue to progress with solid play to reach his goal of playing in THE TOUR Championship. I think Mark is underrated, and he will continue to play well through the weekend.

Tiger, as he always says, has put himself in position to win this BMW Championship. He continues to get a little more comfortable with the greens at Cog Hill. Don't expect him to go anywhere.

Speaking of players sleeping in their own beds -- it could be a trend here for the BMW Championship. Rory Sabbatini has his motor coach at Cog Hill, and it's working for him, as he is one shot back heading into the third round. The Sabbatinis also have a new addition to their family -- an 8-week-old miniature Dachshund named "Jessie."

Look for an exciting third round, and don't be surprised to see Jim Furyk climb up the leaderboard.

Stat of the day
The second-round leader/co-leader has gone on to win 15 of 38 times on the PGA TOUR this season. Last year, 20 of 46 second-round leaders/co-leaders went on to win.
