
Tiger Woods and Mark Wilson hold a share of the lead after the second round with a 7-under 135. Padraig Harrington, Rory Sabbatini, Bo Van Pelt and Marc Leishman are one stroke behind.
Wilson, an Elmhurst, Ill., resident who plays out of Cog Hill Golf & Country Club, shot a 5-under 66 to move into a share of the lead. Wilson is making his eighth appearance at the BMW Championship. His best finishes are T25 in 2007 and T40 in 2004. His best round at the BMW Championship is a final-round 65 in 2007.
Wilson, who was No. 41 in the FedExCup standings entering the week, has never played in THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola.

Wilson has held one other second-round lead/co-lead in his TOUR career, which he turned into a victory at the 2009 Mayakoba Golf Classic.
Woods has won 32 of 39 career TOUR events when holding the second-round lead/co-lead.
Woods is a four-time winner of the BMW Championship (1997, 1999, 2003, 2007) and has eight top-10s in 10 career BMW Championship starts as a professional.
Woods won the 2007 BMW Championship and then went on to win the inaugural FedExCup in 2007.
The last time Woods and Wilson were paired together was the first and second rounds of the 2009 Arnold Palmer Invitational, which was won by Tiger Woods. Padraig Harrington was also in that group for the first two rounds.
Harrington is making his first appearance at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club. Last year, Harrington finished T55 in his only other appearance in the BMW Championship when it was held in St. Louis.
The second-round leader/co-leader has gone on to win 15 of 38 times on the PGA TOUR this season. Last year, 20 of 46 second-round leaders/co-leaders went on to win.

Rory Sabbatini, No. 35 in the FedExCup standings entering the week, is looking for his fourth trip to THE TOUR Championship and first since 2007 (T9).
Sabbatini is making his seventh start at the BMW Championship, with four made cuts and two top-10 finishes (2001-T5, 2007-T10).
Players currently ranked 15th or higher in the FedExCup standings are assured of finishing among the top 30 and reaching THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola in two weeks.
Anthony Kim (T8) is the only player that finished in the top 10 last year at the BMW Championship that is in the top 10 this year after the second round.
Brandt Snedeker (T8) has played 13 out of the last 14 weeks on the PGA TOUR, dating to the St. Jude Classic presented by FedEx in mid-June. The only week he didn't play was the week of the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational. During that stretch he has posted a runner-up finish (John Deere Classic) and three other T5 finishes (AT&T National, RBC Canadian Open, Wyndham Championship). He is currently No. 42 in the FedExCup standings.
Defending BMW Championship winner Camilo Villegas was 3-over today and fell to T30. Tiger Woods (Arnold Palmer Invitational), Phil Mickelson (Northern Trust Open) and Zach Johnson (Valero Texas Open) are the only players to successfully defend their titles this year.
Harrington is seeking his fifth consecutive top-10 finish. The Irishman has finished T2 (Bridgestone Invitational), T10 (PGA Championship), T2 (The Barclays) and T4 (Deutsche Bank Championship) in his last four starts, moving from No. 142 to No. 7 in the FedExCup standings in the process. He opened with a 3-under 68 on Thursday.
Of the eight players who played their way into the top 70 at last week's Deutsche Bank Championship, rookie Marc Leishman (T3) is off to the best start. The entire list includes: Marc Leishman (T3), Bubba Watson (7), Bryce Molder (T35), Sergio Garcia (T13), Jason Bohn (T51), Jeff Overton (T19), Woody Austin (T35) and Stephen Ames (T35).
The only rookies to make the BMW Championship field were Webb Simpson (T41) and Marc Leishman (T3). Their FedExCup rankings are Nos. 51 and 67, respectively, and both need a good performance at Cog Hill to advance to Atlanta.
There have not been any rookie winners on TOUR so far this season. The last season that a rookie failed to capture a win was in 1998, the year that Steve Flesch won PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year honors. Actually, since 1979 there have only been three seasons (1998, 1986 and 1981) where a rookie failed to capture a victory.

The par-3 12th hole played the toughest on Friday, with a 3.265 average. The par-5 15th hole was the easiest at 4.618.
