PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- The PGA TOUR is introducing the first of two 30-second public service announcements today that feature players who highlight important causes in which they believe. It will debut during GOLF CHANNEL's first-round coverage of The Barclays (3-6 p.m. ET), which begins the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup.
Davis Love III opens the spot declaring, "I believe in helping children and families in need." He is followed by Paul Casey, David Toms, Kenny Perry, Adam Scott and Jerry Kelly each stating causes they believe in supporting, before Luke Donald states, "At the PGA TOUR, we believe in helping others." And Tiger Woods concludes: "Because together, anything's possible."
Woods' line references the PGA TOUR's new charity platform, "Together, anything's possible," which rolls out in 2010 and will engage players, tournaments and sponsors, charities, fans and volunteers to build upon and elevate the TOUR's tradition of charitable giving.
The second "We Believe" spot, featuring eight players, is scheduled to debut during THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola, the concluding event in the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup that will be held Sept. 24-27. Again, it will close with the tagline, "Together, anything's possible."
The spots were developed by the PGA TOUR's Brand Marketing Department in conjunction with longtime creative development partner GSD&M Idea City.
This is the second series to use the tag. The first ad to use it was "Hat Tip," acknowledging the good work being done for charity by PGA TOUR events, their sponsors and volunteers. "Hat Tip" began airing in May shortly after PGA TOUR Commissioner Tim Finchem announced "Together, anything's possible" and the concept of the elevated charity platform.
