The TOUR heads to Memphis, Tenn., for this week's event. Here's how the PGATOUR.COM experts sized up the top contenders at the St. Jude Classic presented by FedEx:
SLEEPER PICKS How it works: Our 10 experts from PGATOUR.COM select any player who isn't ranked in the top 30 of the FedExCup rankings, the Official World Golf Ranking and the Race to Dubai. The player also must not have won in 2008 or 2009. By using a draft process, no two picks can be the same. EXPERT PICKS Who do our experts think will capture the St. Jude Classic presented by FedEx title? Here's who they've picked to win. Click here |

JASON DAY. It looks like the young Aussie's game is finally catching up to his swagger. He's been high on the leaderboard these last two weeks, and I'd almost bet we'll see him there again in Memphis. |
Win McMurry |
SCOTT VERPLANK. The five-time PGA TOUR winner has tied for eighth in his last two trips to the St. Jude Classic presented by FedEx, so he should have as good a week as anyone in Memphis.
Helen Ross |
TOM PERNICE JR.. Pernice has finished in the top 20 four times in the the last five years, including second in 2006 and tied for eighth last year. So he's got a comfort zone at TPC Southwind that should work in his favor this week.
Lauren Deason |
ROBERT ALLENBY. Steady Allenby has only missed one cut all season and has four top-25s in 10 starts. Factor in his record in Memphis, where the Aussie was runner-up last season and has three other top-20 finishes in six starts, and he's a stellar choice. |
Mark Spoor |
JOHN DALY. Somebody had to do it, right? Look, jokes aside, Daly appears to be focused this time around. He's hired Phil Mickelson's former swing coach, Rick Smith, and if his twitter page is to be believed, he's 55 pounds lighter. Lightning could strike. |
Brian Wacker |
WOODY AUSTIN. What's not to like about Woody in this spot? He won this tournament two years ago, finished in a tie for sixth at Colonial two weeks ago, can be a sneaky-good putter and is a very good ballstriker. |
Ryan Smithson |
FREDRIK JACOBSON. I am highly irritated that Wacker stole Austin from me. That was my master plan. So why did I pick a Swede? The hair. Seriously, this guy is a solid sleeper, with two top-fives already this year.
T.J. Auclair |
TIM HERRON. In 11 Memphis starts, Herron has finished inside the top 25 10 times, including a runner-up finish in 1999 and a tie for third in 2004. There's something about TPC Southwind that fits Herron's eye. He's just born to play well there.
John Swantek |
JOHN SENDEN. TPC Southwind's greens were the third toughest on TOUR to hit last year. The Aussie is ranked second in greens in regulation, and only by a fraction. Fourth at Bay Hill this year, he's always at his best on the hardest courses. |
Mike McAllister |
MICHAEL LETZIG. He was paired with Tiger Woods on Sunday at the Memorial and certainly got an bird's-eye view on how to close tournaments. In his second year on TOUR, Letzig seems to be finding his stride, with a couple of top-25s in his last two starts. |
LAST WEEK: The standings didn't change much after the Memorial Tournament, as only T.J. Auclair and John Swantek had players finish inside the top 30. Each week, we'll update the standings based on the FedExCup points accumulated by the players selected by our experts. Here's how it stands after Week 22:
