CROWNE PLAZA INVITATIONAL: Transcript archive

Q. Sean, my first question to everyone, tell us about your round today.

SEAN O'HAIR: I played solid, you know, I hit the ball really well. I think I hit every green. I putted nicely and made some nice putts and to be controlling on the greens is really good. Except one hole, my second last hole. But all in all it was a very stress free round of golf.

Q. What happened on that second hole?

SEAN O'HAIR: I 3 putted.

Q. Your driver on No. 9, a 3 club shot, you were pretty close to the green, was there any carryover of what happened on 8?

SEAN O'HAIR: The last time I checked it was in the fairway and I made birdie, so I don't think it was a carryover, no.

Q. Can you talk about the redesign with the bunkers and what do you think about the redesign?

SEAN O'HAIR: I think they did a fantastic job. The bunkers almost look a little bit like Augusta's. I think they did a fabulous job with the redo. I'm not exactly sure with the holes what's the par 3? 13 or 14?

Q. 13.

SEAN O'HAIR: If I seen that bunker out of behind the green there, making the green a little bit bigger, I thought that was a fantastic change. By putting some bunkers in places that there weren't and by removing a few, whoever did it knew what they were doing. I think it's a nice change.

Q. (Inaudible)?

SEAN O'HAIR: Yes, this is just an old school. You got to shape your shot and obviously be a very good ball striker. This is old school. I think it would be ashame to lose this place. It's got so much tradition and so much history here. You look at the wall there when you are teeing up on the first hole, you see the names up there, it almost gives you goose bumps. I think this place is one of the best sites that we get to play on all year.

Q. What does it mean for you to walk in the steps of Hogan?

SEAN O'HAIR: Yes, it's pretty wild to see those pictures in the clubhouse and just to know that he won here, what was it 4 or 5 times? And it's really cool. Really anybody who is anybody is on that wall of champions. It would be really nice to put your name up with them.

Q. (Inaudible)?

SEAN O'HAIR: I just think, you know, you can't really focus too much on what everybody else is doing and how, you know, what's going to win as far as score wise. I think this is one of those courses where each shot is so much different than the next, and you really just got to focus on that one and try to hit as many good shots as possible and try to give yourself as many opportunities on the greens and hopefully the putters work on the weekend. You know, if we continue to have these conditions out here, everybody is going to go pretty low on the weekend.
