CROWNE PLAZA INVITATIONAL: Transcript archive
Q. Talk a little about your game.
TIM CLARK: Yes, again I played as well today as yesterday. I really hit the ball good these two days; a lot of fairways, a lot of putts, dirty putts. If anything I left a few out there, but obviously I can't look at it that way. Steve, I saw play this morning, so I had a lot of catching up to do today. I'm very happy with the round.
Q. Can you talk about the redesign with the bunkers and the way they repositioned them? It looks like you like it?
TIM CLARK: Yes, I'm happy to see that the course hasn't changed too much. They've obviously just changed a few holes with a few bunkers. The changes have been for the better which is a rarity out here. It's nice to see. The course is just playing great. Obviously in great shape. The greens are a little bit softer than normal that's why you are seeing the low scores.
Q. This is the longest running TOUR stop at it's original site, what about this course allows it to stand the test of time?
TIM CLARK: Well, obviously, this course really rewards good play. You look at the tee to green stats and those are probably the guys on the leaderboard. It's rewards good play and it doesn't favor one type of player. It favors everyone.
Q. You've always played well here, what do you think it's going to take to keep that in here this weekend.
TIM CLARK: It all depends on how firm the greens get, but obviously so far the scoring has been really, really low, especially by Steve. It's hard to say, but you just have to come out and take it pretty much one hole at a time and where you end up. But I actually think it's going to get less.
Q. Given the chance to walk in Ben Hogan's footsteps, what does it mean to you?
TIM CLARK: It's very special. Unfortunately, I never got to see Ben play, but it would have been someone I would have really have liked to have met. I read a lot of books and lots of stories about Ben and what a great player he was. It's just nice to come here.
