SCOTT MCCARRON. A year ago at Sedgefield, McCarron finished second with four rounds in the 60s, including a pair of 64s. He posted his third top-10 of the season in Canada last month and is coming off a tie for 24 th at the PGA Championship.

COREY PAVIN. Pavin tied for 19th last week at Hazeltine, his second top-20 in his past four starts. He'll also need a big run to get into the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup. He's 140th going in. I think he's got it in him.
Mike
McAllister
JOE DURANT. Accuracy is a key element at Sedgefield, and nobody on TOUR is more accurate than Durant. He's first in driving accuracy and second in greens in regulation. And at 165th in FedExCup points, he needs a big performance to make the Playoffs.
Ceri
Mobley
MICHAEL LETZIG. I seriously considered making him my pick -- I'm that confident he can win. But, I desperately need help in the sleeper standings, so let's see what he can add to those two recent top-10s as he returns to a course where he was 14 under in '08.
Ryan
Smithson
BRANDT SNEDEKER. It was either Snedeker or Couples, and while Freddy is playing well, this is practically a home game for Brandt, even through he won this event on a different course in 2007.
Lauren
Deason
ROCCO MEDIATE. He's a two-time winner at the Wyndham Championship, though both of his victories did come on a different course. Still, Mediate is comfortable in the Greensboro area and is coming off a T9 in his last start.
John
Swantek
MARTIN LAIRD. His game comes to life this time of year. Last year's 63-64 on the weekend in Greensboro sent him to the Playoffs. At 144th in FedExCup standings, he needs a strong week to return and appears to be peaking again after the Reno runner-up.
Win
McMurry
FRED COUPLES. The upcoming U.S. Presidents Cup Team Captain will be keeping a close eye this week on potential captain's picks for Harding Park, but don't be surprised if the veteran with three top-10s this season is also able to keep up with the competition.
T.J.
Auclair
JAMES NITTIES. It's been a solid rookie campaign for the Aussie, who has six top-25s. Greensboro has proven to be a kind stop for international players with winners like Frank Nobilo, K.J. Choi and Carl Pettersson. Nitties could join that company this week.
Brian
Wacker
JEEV M. SINGH. Pure motivation pick here. Singh badly wants on the International Presidents Cup team and needs to impress Greg Norman, who's eyeing about 10 guys for his two captain's picks. He hasn't played great this year, but he was fourth at Doral.

LAST WEEK: Lauren Deason overtook Brian Wacker thanks to Michael Allen's tie for 19th at the PGA Championship last week, while Helen Ross increased her lead when Robert Allenby tied for 24th at Hazeltine.
