The Verizon Heritage takes place at Harbour Town in Hilton Head Island, S.C. Here's how the PGATOUR.COM experts sized up the top contenders:

EXPERT PICKS How it works: Our 10 experts from PGATOUR.COM select the player they think will win this week's event. By using a draft process, no two picks can be the same. John Swantek |
CAMILO VILLEGAS. Harbour Town's greens are so microscopic, even Spiderman might have trouble getting low enough to read them. But, since he's ranked first on TOUR in greens in regulation (73 percent), he will hit them all week.

| |
Win McMurry |
JIM FURYK He's had three top-10s this season, including a T10 at the Masters last week. Furyk hasn't won since the 2007 Canadian Open -- he's long overdue for PGA TOUR victory No. 14.
| If McMurry had the top pick ... Furyk |
Mike McAllister |
STEWART CINK. He obviously likes the course, having won here twice (2000, 2004), and will be anxious to make amends for missing the cut at the Masters last week.
| If McAllister had the top pick ... Furyk |
T.J. Auclair |
BOO WEEKLEY The two-time defending champion, Weekley's obviously very comfortable at Hilton Head. Though he hasn't played well on TOUR over the past few months, he returns to a place filled with positive memories that could help him break out of a funk.
| If Auclair had the top pick ... Cink |
Ceri Mobley |
AARON BADDELEY. Coming off a tie for 17th and a final-round 69 at the Masters, last year's runner-up looks like a good fit this week. He won here in 2006 but hasn't won on TOUR since early '07. It's about time. |
| If Mobley had the top pick ... Baddeley |
Mark Spoor |
RORY MCILROY. He's been consistently in the top 20 all season long. Sooner or later, he's going to cash in on all that potential. |
| If Spoor had the top pick ... Furyk |
Lauren Deason |
JUSTIN LEONARD. He hasn't missed the cut at Harbour Town since winning there in 2002. Leonard's also had four top-20 finishes this year, so watch out for this Texan.
| If Deason had the top pick ... Furyk |
Brian Wacker |
ERNIE ELS. The Big Easy absolutely loves playing at Harbour Town and it suits his eye well. Els was second there in 2007 and twice has finished third, along with a T7 in '06 and a T10 in 2003. |
| If Wacker had the top pick ... Furyk |
Helen Ross |
ZACH JOHNSON. He's won once already this year and his game is well-suited to Harbour Town -- ranking 10th in driving accuracy and 17th in greens in regulation. After that missed cut at Augusta National, this is a perfect place to get back on track.
| If Ross had the top pick ... Furyk |
Ryan Smithson |
RORY SABBATINI. After a T20 last week at the Masters, Sabbatini has to be confident. Plus, he's due for a win after two years of waiting for another victory. |
| If Smithson had the top pick ... Furyk |
