THE PLAYERS offers early birdie specials on '10 tickets

Tickets for the 2010 PLAYERS Championship went on sale on Sunday, Nov. 1, tournament officials announced, starting at a price of $45 for daily tickets, a 40-percent savings from last year's $75 ticket. THE PLAYERS, one of golf's premier events, will be held at THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass, May 3-9.

The limited-time pricing will be available between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31. Weekly grounds tickets will be available during the same timeframe for $145 (down from $199 in '09).

"We are very excited to offer our fans this incredible value to watch the best players in the world on one of golf's finest stages," said THE PLAYERS Executive Director Jay Monahan. "We feel like this offer will allow more of our fans access to one of the best events in all of sports right here in our back yard. The end result will be more tickets sold, which means more money for charitable organizations in our community."
