Talkin' food with Fred Funk

Fred Funk won THE PLAYERS Championship in his hometown of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., in 2005. Now a member of the Champions Tour as well as the PGA TOUR, Funk sat down before this year's PLAYERS Championship to discuss his favorite foods and his love for ice cream.

Q. What food always reminds you of home?

Fred Funk

FUNK: Hard-shell crabs

Q. What's your favorite restaurant, and what do you order there?

FUNK: Ruth's Chris -- love their steaks

Q. Where was your most memorable meal?

FUNK: Anytime my wife cooks, she's incredible. I love her honey glazed shrimp and sesame chicken.

Q. What's the best snack?

FUNK: Ice cream

Q. Favorite "competition day" breakfast?

FUNK: Eggs, toast and hash browns

Q. What are your comfort foods?

FUNK: Blue Bell chocolate chip ice cream

Q. What would we find in your refrigerator today?

FUNK: 13 gallons of Blue Bell!

In order to maintain your competitive edge, are there any foods/beverages that you have added or given-up?

FUNK: Ice cream

Q. What's the most unusual thing you have ever eaten?

FUNK: Rocky Mountain Oysters (bull testicles)

Q. If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

FUNK: A private dinner with my wife -- we never get to do that anymore.

Q. Do you or your family have a favorite food tradition?

FUNK: My wife's sesame chicken is our family's go-to meal
