Parker McLachlin won his first TOUR event last year; will he add another win in front of his hometown fans this week?

Each week during the 2009 season, PGATOUR.COM will spotlight one key player in the field. For this week's Sony Open in Hawaii, it's Parker McLachlin, the hometown favorite who was born in Honolulu and who broke through with his first PGA TOUR win last year at the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open. Oh, and his family just happens to be friends with President-elect Obama.

| Parker struggled in the first round. He kicked off the Sony Open in Hawaii with back-to-back bogeys out of the gate, but with two birdies and a bogey to close the front nine, he turned with a 1-over 36. After bogeys on Nos. 12 and 13, Parker parred his way in. |

| Parker's struggles were mainly on the back nine during the second round of the Sony Open, where he took six bogeys -- including four straight to finish his round -- to shoot a 7-over 77. That, along with Thursday's 3-over 73, put Parker at 10 over for the tournament to miss the cut by nine shots. |
