Brian
Wacker
VIJAY SINGH. Why am I not surprised that, if there's a player on the PGA TOUR who doesn't mind six-hour pro-am rounds, it's Vijay Singh? Since 2000, he boasts a half dozen top 10s at Pebble Beach, where he won in 2004 and three times has been a runner-up.

Ceri
Mobley
DAVIS LOVE III. I thought hard about Phil, but I just don't trust him right now. Davis has just as solid a history here, and he's playing a lot less erratically than Lefty at present.
If Mobley had the top pick ... Love
Mike
McAllister
JIM FURYK. Shut out of the winner's circle in 2008, Furyk will look to quickly end his TOUR drought as he makes his 2009 season debut. And his track record here isn't bad: Four finishes in the top six or better in his last 10 starts at Pebble Beach.
If McAllister had the top pick ... Furyk
Helen
Ross
PHIL MICKELSON. I know his first two outings haven't lived up to his standards. Here's hoping that Lefty can spend quality time with Dave Pelz to figure out why those putts haven't been dropping. The three-time Pebble champ is too talented to not be a factor.
If Ross had the top pick ... Love
Mark
Spoor
KENNY PERRY. He hasn't played in this tournament since 2003, but ya gotta figure he's got plenty of confidence coming off a playoff victory at the FBR Open despite trying his best to give it away.
If Spoor had the top pick ... Furyk
Lauren
Deason
MIKE WEIR. He's long overdue for a win at Pebble Beach after notching six top-10s in 11 career starts. Plus, Weir tied for third a few weeks ago at the Bob Hope, the TOUR's other multi-course, celeb-filled event.
If Deason had the top pick ... Love
Win
McMurry
TIM CLARK. He's had two top-10s in five starts at Pebble. Plus he's been strong in early 2009 and posted five rounds in the 60s at the similar pro-am formatted Bob Hope Classic to tie for fifth. Look for him to finally break through in the U.S. very soon.
If McMurry had the top pick ... Weir
Ryan
Smithson
MATHEW GOGGIN. My pick last week -- Kevin Streelman -- doubled the easy 18th at Torrey Pines North on Fridasy to miss the cut. I am done with Americans. DONE.
If Smithson had the top pick ... Furyk
John
Swantek
PADRAIG HARRINGTON. Shook off the rust from an eight-week layoff with a T25 at Torrey Pines, finishing with a final round 68. Plus, the weather will conjure up good memories of Royal Birkdale.
If Swantek had the top pick ... Mickelson
T.J.
Auclair
PAT PEREZ. Man, talk about a bargain pick at the No. 10 spot! Perez earned the first win of his career a few weeks back and he has a solid track record at Pebble Beach with three top-25 finishes, including a runner-up in 2002. He's a far more complete player now.
If Auclair had the top pick ... Singh

LAST WEEK: Brian Wacker and Ceri Mobley both had top-3 finishes at the Buick Invitational last week when Lucas Glover and Camilo Villegas, respectively, played well.
