D.J. got off to a fine start in his title defense on Wednesday, firing a 7-under 65 at SilverRock Resort. D.J. played the back nine first and was 2 under at the turn, before making five birdies in seven holes on the back for his 65.

Despite shooting a 5-under 67 on Thursday, D.J. lost some ground to the leaders in the second round. The defending champ stands at 12 under for the tournament and eight shots off the lead.

D.J. wasted no time picking up birdies in the third round at the Nicklaus Course on Friday. He recorded three on the back nine -- his front nine -- and then grabbed four more on the front nine for a flawless round of 7-under 65.

D.J. enjoyed yet another fine round on Saturday, but can't seem to make up much ground as the leaders continue to make birdies in bunches.

The final round of the Bob Hope Classic was tough for everyone because of the windy conditions and D.J. was no exception. The defending champ shot a 2-under 70 to finish tied for 14th.

Five things you should know about D.J. Trahan
His initials are actually D.R. -- Donald Roland. Where does the "J" come from? He's Donald Roland Trahan Jr.
He won the U.S. Amateur Public Links in 2000 and represented the United States in the 2001 Walker Cup and the 2002 Eisenhower Trophy.
His father gave him his start in golf, and who better to send him on his way than a golf instructor who has recorded 13 career aces?
He had to birdie the 18th hole at the Viking Classic three times in a playoff to win his first PGA TOUR title in 2006.
What does he like to do in his spare time? "I do a lot of what Boo Weekley does," he says. He loves to fish and hunt.
