Overview: With the match even through 13 holes, both teams turned up the heat down the stretch. Ultimately, it was the American duo of Kenny Perry and Zach Johnson who had the hotter hand, with birdies on three of the last four holes to go 1 up heading into the final hole, the par-5 18th. The Internationals' Angel Cabrera drove into a fairway bunker; his teammate Camilo Villegas then followed by hitting the lip of the bunker, with the ball staying in the bunker. After two more shots, the Internationals had yet to reach the green, conceding the hole and the match 70 or so yards from the pin. That wasn't the only unusual happening in the match -- Zach Johnson's tee shot on the 11th hole hit Villegas' caddie in the back of the leg, forcing Johnson to return to the tee and hit another drive. "I've never seen that before," Perry said.
Key moment: With the match all square through 15 holes, Kenny Perry's approach shot on the par-4 16th landed within 10 feet, and Johnson drained the birdie putt to give his team the lead.
Quote: "We played great. We kept the ball in the fairway, kept it in front of us." -- Kenny Perry
