BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. -- Nationwide Tour players and caddies will show their support for Chris Smith and Skip Kendall this week at the Nationwide Tour Players Cup by wearing black ribbons.

Smith's wife, Beth, was killed in a weekend auto accident that critically injured their two children. Kendall's mother, Shirley, also lost her life in a car accident a week earlier.
Kendall has played in 11 Nationwide Tour events this year, with three top-10 finishes. Smith has played in eight events with one top-10 finish.
Along with the black ribbons that players can wear, decals with the number "15" -- Smith's favorite number -- will be available to wear. Caddie bibs with Smith's name on it will be made available for the caddies, too.
Beth Smith, 42, of Peru, Ind., was killed when the sport utility vehicle she was a passenger in struck a Greyhound bus carrying members of a Canadian football team, the London Silverbacks, about 11:35 a.m. Sunday. More than 20 people were hurt in the fiery crash near this northern Indiana community.
Steuben County Coroner Rodney Snyder said he identified Smith using her dental records.
Smith's children, 16-year-old Abigail and 12-year-old Cameron, were listed in critical condition Monday at a Fort Wayne hospital. Steuben County Sheriff's Sgt. Philip Nott said Tuesday no further information was being released about the children because of privacy laws.
"All of us at the PGA TOUR are saddened by the news of the tragic accident, which claimed the life of Beth Smith and left her two children in critical condition," said PGA TOUR Commissioner Tim Finchem. "Our thoughts and prayers are with Chris and his family during this very difficult time."
