Miccosukee Championship: Tee times | Field | Power Rankings

PGATOUR.COM will have expert picks and sleepers for each Nationwide Tour event this year. Our experts -- Nationwide Tour producer Ceri Mobley and former Nationwide Tour and PGATOUR.COM employee Jordan Crampton -- will each choose two players they consider favorites that week and a sleeper pick (a player who is not inside "THE 25"). Here are their selections for this week's Miccosukee Championship. |
|
| Crampton's picks | Mobley's picks |
| Matt Every. Going out on a limb with my first pick this week (which I have for the first time in well over a month!) taking Every; he's currently well outside "THE 25" on the money list, and his hopes of making it tothe TOUR next season can only come to fruition with a victory either this week or next. I'm hoping Every will make a splash in his home state this week. He played well here last season with a T20 finish. |
Tom Gillis. Despite handing me his first missed cut of the season a couple of weeks ago, I am still running with my go-to guy this week. He had to miss a cut some time, right? Even Tiger Woods can't make them all. Gillis tied for 18th in Miami last year, so he has a solid start from which to build this week. Let's hope I see another one of those single-digit finishes in the penultimate event of the season. |
| Vance Veazey. Coming off a brilliant three-day run in Chattanooga, Veazey nearly captured his second title of the season. Like Every, Veazey needs a good finish to his season as he is currently 21st on the money list, and he has not quite secured his card yet. Veazey played well at Miccosukee last season, making the cut before stumbling with 72s on the weekend. He will need to find that form again this week in Miami. |
Michael Sim. I desperately need a win if I am going to catch Jordan, and since I only have two weeks in which to do it, who better to run with than three-time 2009 champion Michael Sim? That's right, Jordan; he's in the field, and you didn't notice. (Well, neither did I, at first.) The two times Sim missed the cut this year, he was my guy, so let's hope I don't get burned again. I am putting all my eggs in this basket. |
|
| Crampton's sleeper | Mobley's sleeper |
| Adam Bland. I'm taking Bland with my final pick as he seems to be showing good form from last week with his T11 in Chattanooga. Bland managed to move up six spots on the Nationwide Tour money list where he is now in 30th position. A strong finish to the season and Bland could be looking at his TOUR card. Bland has fared well when making the cut this year. He will need to do so if he wants to crack "THE 25." |
Bubba Dickerson. After winning in a playoff back in March of this year, Dickerson has had an unpredictable season and has fallen out of "THE 25." When you have a win under your belt, that's a tough pill to swallow, so I think Dickerson will do his best to pull it out over the next two weeks and earn that TOUR card. It'll help his confidence that he tied for 11th in Miami in 2008, and he safely made the cut last week. |
|
LAST WEEK: Jordan Crampton extended his lead thanks to solid finishes from Jerod Turner (T6) and Bubba Dickerson (T30), while two of Ceri Mobley's picks didn't make it to the weekend at the Chattanooga Classic presented by Black Creek.
