VILAMOURA, Portugal (AP) -- Francesco Molinari matched the lowest halfway total of the European Tour season, shooting a 6-under 66 Friday in the second round of the Portugal Masters for an overall 15-under 129.
The Italian, who leads by three strokes, had five birdies and a bogey on the back nine. In the opening round, 26-year-old Molinari equaled the lowest round of his Tour career with a 9-under 63.
Retief Goosen and Pablo Martin were tied for second place. Martin became the first amateur to win a title on the on the circuit when he won the Portuguese Open two years ago.
