"We want more people around the world to know about the 500-year-old profession that is coming back and teaches positive life and social skills," said Dennis Cone, PCA Worldwide Caddie Foundation president. "We're reaching out to the public along with the golfing industry and asking everyone to get involved in what we are doing. It's a process over time.
"As people find out about it (the Caddie Hall of Fame and PCA) they say, 'This guy or lady should be in.' We want to have a caddie from every country in the world represented and sharing their start in golf someday".
Based on the information gathered, the 10 members of the nominating committee, made up of PGA TOUR golfers, professional caddies, golf writers, PCA board members and other dignitaries, will cast their votes.
The PCA Hall of Fame has the following divisions: the oldest working caddie , male and female; the best caddie, male and female; caddie manger/master; caddie/coach and notable people who started as caddies.
