If Tiger keeps hitting 12 of 14 fairways for the rest of the week, he is going to be hard to beat. And, in my opinion, the better Padraig Harrington plays, the better chance of Tiger playing well. These two really seem to feed off each other. And that is strange because two of Harrington's biggest career achievements came without Tiger in the field at last year's PGA and British Open. The pair really never crossed paths too much before last week, and now they are both putting on quite a show.
There was a moment on the third green where Padraig might have been focusing just a little too much. The exit to the fourth tee is over on the left side of the green, and he got just a little lost. Tiger, Rich Beem, and the three caddies started walking one way, and the reigning Player of the Year headed the other. He didn't get too far though, before he realized that there wasn't too far to go in the direction he was headed. He smirked just a bit as he reversed course and got back on track. Plus, he was in a good mood after making birdie on the hole.
The golf course didn't look like the same place that took 6 inches of water in a 24-hour period of time less than a week ago. There was no standing water, and no mud to be found. But, there was also not too much release in the fairways. The greens were still a bit receptive as well. Look for things to continue to dry out if there is no additional rain on the weekend.
