CHASKA, Minn. -- World No. 3 Paul Casey will make a game-time decision on whether he can compete in the 91st PGA Championship.
Casey is nursing a pulled intercostal muscle on his left side. He first suffered the injury while practicing for the U.S. Open and had to withdraw after playing six holes in the first round of last week's World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational.
Casey hit balls at Hazeltine National on Wednesday and played nine holes. He plans to arrive around 7:30 a.m. ET on Thursday in advance of his 8:45 a.m. ET tee time and see how he feels.
The Englishman, who has won three times this year, spent the weekend in Akron to rest and receive treatment for the injury. He came to Minnesota on Tuesday and attended a press function for one of his sponsors, Nike, that evening. .
