BEIJING (AP) -- Europe's Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie says his latest outbursts at the China Open are a result of some people's lack of understanding about golf etiquette.
While shooting a 1-over 73 during Friday's round, Montgomerie shouted at a photographer who was taking photos during his swing. He later told a TV cameraman in his line of sight to move, yelling "don't film me" as he searched for his ball.
Montgomerie told BBC Radio 5 on Saturday that China "is an emerging nation golf-wise."
He says sometimes the Chinese, Koreans and Thais and emerging countries in the Far East tend not to understand or appreciate the etiquette of the game.
Montgomerie recovered with a 70 on Saturday, eight shots behind leader Richard Finch of England.
