The first major of the year takes place this week as the TOUR travels to Augusta, Ga. Here's how the PGATOUR.COM experts sized up the top contenders:
SLEEPER PICKS How it works: Our 10 experts from PGATOUR.COM select any player who isn't ranked in the top 20 of the FedExCup rankings, the top 30 of the Official World Golf Ranking and hasn't won that season. By using a draft process, no two picks can be the same. EXPERT PICKS Who do our experts think will capture the Masters title? Here's who they've picked to win. Click here |

| Sleeper picks: Masters |
Win McMurry |
TIM CLARK. He's competed with the best of them at the two World Golf Championships events -- including taking out Tiger in the Accenture Match Play. The 2008 winner of the Australian Masters, Clark was runner-up in Augusta in '06 and tied for 13th in '07. |
John Swantek |
IAN POULTER Something clicked at the Ryder Cup for Poulter, who emerged as a beast on the big stage. He now believes he can contend in a major. Plus, I'm giddy about the potential ensemble he might rock at the
Green Jacket ceremony.
Mike McAllister |
FRED COUPLES. What a story it would be if the 49-year-old Couples were to win a second Green Jacket. No doubt he's playing well right now (T3s in two of his last three starts) and he tied for 3rd at Augusta as
recently as 2006.
T.J. Auclair |
MIGUEL ANGEL JIMENEZ. The Mechanic has three top-10 finishes in his career at Augusta National, highlighted by a tie for eighth last year. He's enjoyed a wonderful career in Europe and a major win would be icing on the cake. |
Ryan Smithson |
RORY SABBATINI. I am trying to give everyone a chance to catch up to me in the Sleeper standings. If Rory gets hot this weekend and contends, don't blame me. |
Mark Spoor |
BEN CURTIS. Sure, he's been mediocre this year, but he always seems to show up big for the huge events. Here's hoping he has one more magical run in him. |
Brian Wacker |
ANGEL CABRERA. If Augusta National plays more like a U.S. Open course, the way it has the past couple of years, then I like this former U.S. Open winner's chances. Cabrera has also had moderate success at the Masters with a T8 in '06 and a T15 in '03.
Helen Ross |
TREVOR IMMELMAN. Hard to believe the defending champ qualifies as a sleeper but he does. He's happy with what he's seeing on the range now and encouraged by his performance in the Florida swing. Augusta National should bring good vibes.
Lauren Deason |
LUKE DONALD. If his wrist holds up, Donald could contend at Augusta National, where he tied for third in 2005 and tied for 10th in 2007. Plus, he's only missed one cut all season and hasn't finished outside the top-25 when he's made the weekend. |
Ceri Mobley |
JEEV MILKHA SINGH. The "other" Singh tied for 25th at last year's Masters and tied for ninth at the 2008 PGA. He has just one missed cut this year and strong finishes everywhere else. Show me what ya got, Jeev. |
LAST WEEK: Ryan Smithson selected Fred Couples, who tied for third at last week's Shell Houston Open. Each week, we'll update the standings based on the FedExCup points accumulated by the players selected by our experts. Here's how it stands after Week 13:
