With the birth of Woods Baby No. 2, we can put to rest the speculation over whether Tiger and wife Elin would name their second born for Tiger's late father Earl if they had a little boy.

They didn't. Or did they?

Once again, it seems that the world's No. 1 golfer -- whose first son was born on the day he'd usually be hoisting a trophy -- was able to outsmart the rest of us. According to babynames.com, the middle name of Tiger and Elin's new baby, Axel, has a special meaning.

The Scandinavian name (naturally, with a Swedish mother) means "my father is peace" -- an appropriate tribute to the man who taught Tiger how to channel peace on the golf course, inevitably the key to his dominance.

The baby's first name, Charlie, means "free man," which also seems rather fitting just three weeks after the inauguration of America's first black president. After Barack Obama was elected, Tiger told CNBC "I think it's absolutely incredible."

"I was hoping it would happen in my lifetime. My father was hoping it would happen in his lifetime, but he didn't get to see it."
