Most Difficult Hole
The par-3 232-yard 17th
At 243 yards from the gold tees, the 17th hole, nicknamed "The Homestead", is one of the longest par 3s known to golf. There is little room for forgiveness as the wetland grasses protrude into the fairway and surround the left side of the green. The putting surface is huge but a player must avoid sand in front and behind. This awesome hole will require skill and courage if one is to score well here.
2007: 0 eagles, 17 birdies, 191 pars, 94 bogeys, 11 double bogeys and 2 others.
Easiest hole in 2007
The par-5 582-yard 2nd hole
No. 2, known as the "Water 'N' Woods", is medium in length and provides a generous landing area on the tee shot. A pond guards the left side of the green and second shot landing area. The putting surface is large and inviting but an approach must be deadly accurate. For the longer hitters this hole may be reachable in two shots, though the pond provides a watery grave for errant shots.
2007: 2 eagles, 95 birdies, 192 pars, 25 bogeys, 1 double bogeys, 0 others.

• The par-4 18th hole was the 25th toughest par-4 hole in 2007 and had a 4.317 stroke average.
• When comparing the two nines at The Crosswater Golf Club, the front was easier on the par-72 course. The first nine holes played 0.022 strokes below par while the back nine was 0.879 strokes over par.
• The Crosswater Club at Sunriver played as the easiest among the Champions Tour's five majors last year, however, it was also the hardest layout for a JELD-WEN Tradition since 2000.
Course origins
Crosswater Golf Club sits in a beautiful meadow with the Little Deschutes River running through it and with the Big Deschutes River bordering it on the west side. This meadow was an old homestead. The homestead cemetery was preserved and now sits on the west side of the 11th hole. The golf course has fantastic wildlife habitat throughout the course as well as beautiful views of Mt. Bachelor, Broken Top and The Three Sisters. The river and wetlands impact play on all but two holes. The golf course sits at an elevation of 4,183 feet and is covered in snow from December through March.
Crosswater Club is fast and firm, and due to the elevation and low humidity, plays somewhat shorter than the actual yardage.
The course has hosted several tournaments in the 2000s, including the 2007 PGA Professional National Championship, the 2006 Mens NCAA Division I Championship, the 2001 PGA Club Professional Championship and the 2000 Womens NCAA Division I Championship.
