PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic -- With his victory Sunday, Mark Wiebe won for the second time in 12 career Champions Tour starts and earns a check for $300,000. Wiebe took 109 starts to achieve the same feat on the PGA TOUR, where he has also notched two wins.

• Mark Wiebe earned 300 Charles Schwab Cup points, the first he's tallied all season, with his win in the Dominican Republic. Bernhard Langer continues to lead the 2008 Schwab Cup race with 851 and Scott Hoch remains in second place with 566. At the end of the official season, the player earning the most points will receive a $1 million annuity.

Vicente Fernandez celebrated his 62nd birthday in style this weekend with a runner-up finish, his best effort since finishing tied for second at the 2003 Emerald Coast Classic. His 7-under 65 was the lowest round of the day and tied the new course record set by Joe Ozaki in the second round.

• All six Masters champions in the field are headed back to Augusta National next week. Here is how they stacked up at the Punta Espada Golf Club: Craig Stadler tied for third, Bernhard Langer tied for 15th, Tom Watson tied for 15th, Sandy Lyle tied for 25th, Ian Woosnam tied for 56th and Fuzzy Zoeller tied for 66th.

• Craig Stadler's tie for third was his third top-10 of the year after finishing tied for eighth at the Toshiba Classic and tied for ninth at the Ginn Championship. Last year, Stadler only had four top-10s all season.

• After 30 mph winds with higher gusts on Friday, the 77-man field opened with a scoring average of 74.688. Once the winds subsided, the stroke average fell to 71.195 in the second round and 70.896 in the final. The easiest hole of the week was No. 6 which played to a stroke average of 4.628. The hardest hole was No. 10 which played to a stroke average of 4.273.

Joey Sindelar and Greg Hickman finished tied for 61st and tied for 56th, respectively, in their Champions Tour debuts.

• Two players in the field had notable turnarounds. After opening with 5-over-par 77 (tied for 55th), Joe Ozaki jumped 43 spots in the next two rounds to finish tied for 12th. John Harris opened with a 11-over-par 83 (76), but bounced back with a 5-under-par 67 in the second round and 4-under-par 68 to finish tied for 42nd.

• Open qualifier Gene Jones finished tied for ninth to gain an entry into the FedEx Kinko's Classic in Austin, Texas, on April 28-May 4.

• Bernhard Langer came up short in his bid to become the quickest-ever to $1 million on the Champions Tour. He has now earned $894,627 in seven starts and can match the all-time record of eight events originally established by Hale Irwin (1998) and later equaled by Loren Roberts (2006).
