Tim Petrovic made three birdies on the back nine, including one at the 18th hole, to shoot a 70 Friday that moved him from a tie for 100th after the first round and enabled him to the cut on the number at the Puerto Rico Open presented by Banco Popular.

Tim Petrovic birdied his final hole to make the cut on the number.

Petrovic was one of 81 players to make the 36-hole cut, which came at even-par 144. Weekend play at Trump International Golf Club will be in threesomes off the first and 10th tees on Saturday and Sunday with an expected finish time each day around 3:45 p.m. ET.

With 81 players -- 80 professionals and one amateur -- making the cut, the field will be subjected to a 54-hole cut on Saturday, again to the low 70 and ties.

Robert Damron and Tom Byrum both played their way to the weekend with rounds of 68 to move from a tie for 79th to a share of 34th. Damron's 68 was bogey free -- a far cry from the first round where he made seven.

Dudley Hart made three birdies on the back nine in his round of 69 on Friday to move up to a tie for 48th after starting the round in danger of missing the cut, also tied for 79th.

Brent Geiberger and Johnson Wagner both leapt from a tie for 100th to joint 48th with rounds of 68 on Friday. Geiberger shot 33 on the front and birdied the 18th hole while Wagner closed with birdies on Nos. 12 and 17.

Former U.S. Open champion Tom Kite and Tom Lehman, who won the 1996 British Open, were among the players missing the cut in the inaugural Puerto Rico Open.
