Editor's note: PGATOUR.com has tried to make our experts work a little harder when they make their picks each week. The favorite can be anyone in the field, although Tiger Woods could only be used seven times during the year. Sleepers can't have won in 2008 or had a top 10 in their last five starts. A sleeper can't be ranked in the top 30 in the field, either.

Pick: Robert Allenby

The stats say it, and I've written it many times in this space -- and I still can't believe either -- Robert Allenby hasn't won a PGA TOUR event since 2001. How can that be? This season alone, the Aussie has seven top-10 finishes and has missed the cut just once in 25 starts. And that missed cut? It came in his first event of the season. His consistency has been tremendous. The only thing this terrific season is missing for Allenby is a victory.

Pick: Joey Sindelar
I could say I'm picking him just because he plays well in New York -- Sindelar won the B.C. Open twice in nearby Endicott, N.Y. -- or I could be picking him because he was born in Fort Knox, N.Y., now lives in Horseheads, N.Y., and thrives on the courses in the area where he grew up. But mostly, it's because the Champions Tour golfer -- he's had five top-10s in 15 starts on the 50-and-over Tour this season -- is one of the fan favorites near his hometown and is an all-around nice guy who is worthy of a little more success on the PGA TOUR.

Pick: David Duval
It was a tough choice between the former No. 1 in the world and two-time U.S. Open champ Lee Janzen, who made it into the field by winning Monday qualifying. It's a great place for a comeback -- for either one. For some reason, my eye kept going back to Duval.

Pick: Davis Love III

I have picked Davis Love as my dark horse several times this year. At the risk of jinxing him one more time, I am going with Davis because he is as decorated as anyone in the field. He is in great shape, but, for a variety of reasons, things just haven't come together this year. But remember what Justin Leonard and Mike Weir did in the fall a year ago. They breathed new life into their careers. Davis is trying to do the same thing.

Pick: Davis Love III

Love plans to finish off a poor season by playing the remainder of the events in hopes of saving a career exemption. Has work to do, but the incentive is there. Now he needs to find his game.

Pick: Robert Allenby

He's had seven top 10s this season. But what I find more impressive is that he has made every cut in 2008, except his first start in Hawaii. That's 24 out of a possible 25 paychecks that he's cashed. Allenby hasn't finished worse than tied for 44th -- and he has 15 top 25s this year. The Australian is looking for a comeback victory; the last time he was in the winner's circle was in 2001. This could be his week.

Pick: Davis Love III
It's been a while since we've seen his best game on the course, but I'll gladly make this pick based on incentive (Love needs a strong finish to set him up for 2009) and back class (you can't deny what Love can do on a course when he gets a little positive momentum going).

Pick: Davis Love III
When he won the Payne Stewart Award last week, Davis Love III was talking about how much he wanted to play for his friend Fred Couples at The Presidents Cup next year. He's got a ways to go, but Love plans to play five of the next six events. This would be a great place to make a statement.

Pick: Charles Warren

He might have decent memories after tie for 10th last year. A good finish would give him better thoughts about his future TOUR prospects. His only top 10 of year came at the FBR Open, where he finished third.
