All times are eastern
J.B. Holmes, Stephen Ames, Mark Wilson
Tee time: 8 a.m.
Tee: No. 10
Total TOUR wins: 6
Why you should watch: Ames starts Friday's play just two shots back of leader Toms. He's quietly putting together a solid season. He's made eight of nine cuts in 2007 with four top-25 finishes. Holmes, who won the FBR Open in early February, starts the day four back and one shot clear of the projected cut line. Holmes missed the cut in his last start at the Verizon Heritage. Wilson starts the day one shot below the projected cut at 2 over. He'll be trying to avoid two missed cuts in a row after failing to see the weekend at the EDS Byron Nelson Championship.

Geoff Ogilvy, Phil Mickelson, Carl Pettersson
Tee time: 12:40 p.m.
Tee: No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 39
Why you should watch: Mickelson got a lot of attention for his one-bogey 68 on Thursday, but Ogilvy had probably the most consistent round of anyone on Thursday, posting 16 pars and two birdies on route to a 2-under 70. He starts the day three back of leader David Toms. Pettersson, meanwhile, starts the day at even par despite three bogeys, including one of the par-4 starting hole. If he can eliminate those mistakes today, we may have a new leader going into the weekend.

Adam Scott, David Toms, Shaun Micheel
Tee time: 1:10 p.m.
Tee: No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 19
Why you should watch: Here's a thought that should scare the life out of the remainder of the field: Toms shot a 5-under 67 on Thursday -- with three bogeys. Scott had four bogeys Thursday, but he still sits in contention at even par. Does he have any more heroics in store? Micheel will have to go some today if he is to see the weekend. He put up two double-bogeys yesterday and sits at 4 over, four shots behind the projected cut.
