Editor's note: PGATOUR.com has tried to make our experts work a little harder when they make their picks each week. The favorite can be anyone in the field, although Tiger Woods could only be used seven times during the year. Sleepers can't have won in 2008 or had a top 10 in their last five starts. A sleeper can't be ranked in the top 30 in the field, either.

T.J. Auclair

Pick: Kevin Stadler
The son of the Walrus hasn't played well since a tie for 15th at THE PLAYERS way back in May. It's time to slip out of the slump and there would be no better place to do that than the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open where he finished in a tie for second last season -- the best finish of his PGA TOUR career.

Lauren Deason
PGATOUR.COM Editorial Coordinator
Pick: Charley Hoffman
Other than back-to-back top 10s at the EDS Byron Nelson Championship and the Wachovia Championship, Hoffman hasn't had the best year. In his only appearance at the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open, he tied for 36th. Just a hunch about Hoffman, not much more to go on. But the UNLV alum at least has ties to the state, so perhaps he'll get lucky in Nevada.

Pick: Steve Elkington
Elkington was sixth in Reno a year ago, so knows the course. He's another Sharkmate who was derailed with a WD last week. Still, he's shown glimpses of his major self earlier this year.

Dave Lagarde

Pick: Nick Watney
Watney can turn a mediocre season around in four days. He has shown he is comfortable at this event.

Pick: David Duval
Yes, I know but hear me out. He did play three fine rounds at the British Open and more importantly he was able to find his golf ball. You may not know this but you can play the TOUR with the putting yips. You can't play dead in an old western with the driver yips, though. If you can't find your ball you can't play. David is finally past the dead lefts and the hard rights. And besides, how many other former No. 1 players are there in the field anyway?

Win McMurry
Host, PGA TOUR Today
Pick: Nick Watney
In three starts in Reno, he has two top-10s. The California native has missed his last two cuts and has only one top-10 this year, which came at the season opener in Kapalua. Still, I think Watney could wake up this week. He is almost 70 spots worse in the FedExCup standings than he was a year ago and is going to use this week to try to move into better position.

Helen Ross

Pick: Charles Warren
Warren had shown signs of breaking out of the doldrums last month with a tie for 17th at the Buick Open and joint 27th at AT&T National. He's missed the cut in his last two starts, but a return to Montreux -- where he shared second with Kevin Stadler last year -- could be just what Warren needs.

Dave Shedloski
PGATOUR.COM Senior Correspondent
Pick: Brian Davis
He tied for ninth last year at Montreux Golf & Country Club and has been playing some decent golf most of this season.

John Swantek
PGA TOUR Productions Fantasy Insider
Pick: Charles Warren
Love the combination of high altitude and long driving. Averaging 298 yards a pop (16th on TOUR), Warren will turn it loose at Montreux, where he was the runner-up last year. At 111th in FedExCup points, Charles can lock up a spot in two playoff events with a high finish in Reno.
