LAS VEGAS -- Marc Turnesa recorded a 4 -under 68 on Sunday to capture his first PGA TOUR victory at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open -- the fourth of seven events in the PGA TOUR Fall Series. Turnesa, at a tournament-record 25-under 263, finished one stroke ahead of Matt Kuchar (67). The previous tournament record was set by George McNeill in 2007 (23-under 264).
Marc Turnesa collected a career-best $738,000 with the win, moving from No. 138 on the money list to No. 75, with $1,318,638. The win gives Turnesa a two-year exemption on the PGA TOUR, and an invitation into next year's season-opening Mercedes-Benz Championship.

Marc Turnesa also performed late-season heroics in 2007, winning the Nationwide Tour's Miccosukee Championship on October 28. The victory -- which came in the last regular season event of the year -- helped Turnesa earn his PGA TOUR status for 2008 as one of the Tour's 25 graduates. His victory is the 235th on the PGA TOUR by a former Nationwide Tour member.
Marc Turnesa became the fourth rookie and the 12th first-time winner on the PGA TOUR in 2008 with his victory Sunday in the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. Turnesa joins rookie winners Dustin Johnson (Turning Stone Resort Championship), Chez Reavie (RBC Canadian Open) and Andres Romero (Zurich Classic of New Orleans).

He joins Jim Furyk (1995), Tiger Woods (1996), Phil Tataurangi (2002), Andre Stolz (2004), Wes Short, Jr. (2005), Troy Matteson (2006) and George McNeill (2007).
The runner-up finish for Kuchar was the second of his career, with the first coming at the 2001 Texas Open at LaCantera. The former Georgia Tech All-American posted his lone victory on TOUR at the 2002 Honda Classic. He collected $442,800 on Sunday to move to No. 67 on the money list, snapping a streak of seven consecutive missed cuts in the process.
Former UNLV standout Chad Campbell finished tied for third in his sixth-career start at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.
Marc Turnesa has now held at least a share of the lead in seven out of 16 rounds during the first four events of the PGA TOUR's Fall Series. He was the outright leader for the first three rounds of the Viking Classic before falling to Will MacKenzie in a playoff. This week, he held at least a share of the lead all four days, eventually winning his first title on Sunday.
Scott Sterling finished tied for eighth for his first career top-10 finish. Sterling matched his career-low round on the PGA TOUR with an 8-under 64.
Mike Weir (tie for 10th) has finished inside the top 10 in five of his last seven starts. He is currently No. 15 on the official money list.
The round of the day was turned in by Tim Herron with a 10-under 62 -- matching the low round of the week (Rd. 1 -- Zach Johnson, Marc Turnesa). His bogey-free round -- one shy of the career-low 61 he recorded at the 2003 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic -- helped him jump 41 spots from tied for 47th to tied for sixth.
Three players (Marc Turnesa, Michael Allen and Davis Love III) were able to jump into the top 125 this week. As a result, Vaughn Taylor (from No. 124 to No. 126), Jay Williamson (from No. 123 to No. 127) and Martin Laird (from No. 125 to No. 128) fell out.
Despite struggling on Sunday with a 2-over 74, Ken Duke (tied for 15th) still managed his ninth top-25 finish in his last 11 starts.

The list includes: Round 1 -- Chad Campbell, Bill Haas, Will MacKenzie, Pat Perez; Round 2 -- Daniel Chopra, Jason Day; Round 3 -- Chad Campbell, Chris DiMarco and Davis Love III; Round 4 -- Mathew Goggin.
After three consecutive 5-under 67s to open the tournament, defending champion George McNeill posted a 3-under 69 on Sunday to finish tied for 15th. Jim Furyk (1998-99) remains the only player to win back-to-back titles at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.
