The 36-hole cut was at 5-under with 71 players making the cut.

Positive movers

Ryan Palmer. Last week's winner and a former champion at this week's tournament opened the tournament at Disney World with a 71, which feels like an over-par score at this low-scoring event. Maybe he is now fully rested up from his win on Sunday, because Palmer shot a 7-under 65 on Friday.

Bob Estes. Tied for 61st at the beginning of the second day, Estes' 9-under 63 moved him into a tie for seventh. His round, which featured nine birdies and no bogeys, might have helped him for next year since Estes is currently 135th on the Money List.

Jason Day. Day's 6-under 66 propelled him from a tie for 95th into a tie for 51st. That might not sound like much, but Day is 138th on the Money List and knows that every birdie and every penny counts this week if he wants to keep his TOUR card.

Negative movers

Alejandro Canizares. The rookie played the Magnolia Course on Friday after shooting 68 at the Palm Course on Thursday. The Magnolia Course was not kind to Canizares, as he shot 77 and dropped well below the cutline after sitting in a tie for 28th at the start of the day.

Fredrik Jacobson. Jacobson was tied for 28th at the start of the day and seemingly on his way to making the weekend. Instead, he fired a 73 in the second round and missed it by two. At No. 53 on the Money List, though, he can gain some solace by knowing that he'll have a spot on the PGA TOUR next year.

J.P. Hayes. If you don't go low in this week's event, you're going home. Hayes learned that the hard way when he shot a 1-over 73 which, when combined with a 2-under 69, put him at 2 under for the tournament. He's now heading home early, though, because he dropped from a tie for 50th on Thursday into a spot below the cutline.

On the number

Chris DiMarco. The Florida Gator dropped from a tie for 28th on Thursday into a tie for 60st, but it wasn't enough for him to fall below the cutline. He will collect a paycheck on Sunday thanks to rounds of 68 and 71 on the first two days.

Jeff Maggert. He was 6-under par on Friday, with five birdies, an eagle and a bogey on his scorecard. The veteran won the tournament at Disney World in 1993.

Boo Weekley. Most of the fans will be happy about this one. Weekley barely made it to see Saturday and Sunday, struggling on the eighth and ninth holes with a double bogey and bogey. Still, he rallied with three birdies to make it to the weekend, when Disney World will probably be treated to a chorus of "Boos" for the first time in the happiest place on Earth's history.

Notable missed cuts

Brad Faxon. After battling back from injuries and surgeries, the veteran missed the cut at Disney World. He was only able to play in three events this season but didn't make it to the weekend at any of them.

Charles Warren. When Warren entered the week, he was 127th on the Money List and hoping to earn some moolah to move inside the top 125. Instead, Warren had a paycheck-less week and could potentially drop a few spots.

Brian Gay. Gay, a winner in 2008 and No. 30 on the Money List, was one of the highest ranked players in the field. Unfortunately, he missed the cut and could be in danger of losing his hold on the coveted "30" spot, which gives players a spot in the Masters and U.S. Open in 2009.
