Who should you keep a close eye on going into this week's PGA TOUR event at Warwick Hills? Here are a handful of names.
Kenny Perry Perry has been the hottest golfer on the PGA TOUR in May and June, earning 8,746 FedExCup points in seven events. |
Heath Slocum Slocum has has been quietly climbing in the FedExCup standings in May and June -- from 114th on May 1 to 37th going into this week's event. Slocum has made 13 straight cuts, including a tie for ninth at the U.S. Open and a fourth last week at the Travelers Championship. |
Jim Furyk Let's see ... he has never missed a cut in 13 starts at Warwick Hills. He has a win, two second-place finishes and seven consecutive top 10s. Oh, and he'll enter Thursday's first round seeking his 38th consecutive round under par. |
Paul Goydos and Rocco Mediate Goydos and Mediate both participated in exciting playoffs for big events (Goydos losing to Sergio Garcia at THE PLAYERS; Mediate losing to Tiger Woods at the U.S. Open). They're also linked in the FedExCup standings -- Mediate is in 54th place, 25 points ahead of Goydos in 55th. Mediate has scored the third most points of all non-winners in May and June with 3,976, and Goydos is fourth on that list with 3,724. |

Brian Bateman and Jason Gore Bateman, last year's winner at the Buick Open, and Gore, who finished tied for second, could use another good week at the Buick Open. Both are outside of the top 120 in the current FedExCup standings. |
Justin Leonard Outside of Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, Leonard has been the hottest player on the PGA TOUR during the past nine months. He has two wins, a second and five other top 10s in that time frame. |
