To keep your nerves in check in any situation, you've just got to rely on your routine and go through that way. Find a rhythm that settles you in and just stick with it. Whether you're in a stressful situation or not, just stick with what works for you. I think everybody out here has got different levels of pressure whether it's trying to make the first cut or winning for the first time or win your first major, whatever.
But whether you're a golfer or a businessman, pressure is pressure and it's all about finding what works for you. I think if it works once, it will work every time in every situation. Rely on your routine and reassure yourself that you've been there before and everything worked out.
I don't tend to see myself as particularly high-strung, but with the crazy schedule we all keep, I've had to learn to really manage my time, so as to avoid a pressure build-up. The way I do that is to learn how to manage my time and diet.
As far as eating right, it's a lot of common sense. It doesn't always happen, I'll admit. But, I just try to be smart and lay off the high fats and fried foods. I try to eat a lot of protein and load the carbs in the afternoon instead of at night. That helps me fuel up for the next day.
