Editor's note: PGATOUR.com has tried to make our experts work a little harder when they make their picks each week. The favorite can be anyone in the field, although Tiger Woods could only be used seven times during the year. Sleepers can't have won in 2008 or had a top 10 in their last five starts. A sleeper can't be ranked in the top 30 in the field, either.

Pick: Davis Love III
Love is going to win a tournament again one of these days, so why not a tournament that he's won twice in the past like the Wyndham Championship? Love's best finish this season was a tie for 19th at the Open Championship. While it's taken a while to bounce back from injuries, we've all come to expect more from a world-class player like DL3. He'll play well in Greensboro this week.

As easy as my winner pick of Paul Casey was, the sleeper pick was equally difficult. Zach Johnson? No, he only wins in Georgia. Brandt Snedeker? Defending champion but has only one top-10 since that disappointing Masters loss. So that leaves Love, an excellent choice given he's won the Wyndham Championship twice, has ties to the Tar Heel State and, at 150th on the FedExCup points list, needs this to qualify for the first event in the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup.

Pick: David Toms
Hard to think of him that way, but Toms falls under the guidelines, so . . . . Toms playing well and his reunion with Scott Gneiser had him contending at the Monster last week. He wants another Ryder Cup spot, too.

Pick: David Toms
Showed some signs of life at the PGA Championship, but his undoing came when the course turned soft due to the showers. The move to a shorter course in Greensboro will suit Toms and perhaps he can build on his performance at the PGA.

I am going to ride this particular horse until he drops. It just doesn't seem possible that he has struggled for so long. But he should be comfortable at a classic Southern design and at a tournament at which he has been a favorite for years. He isn't old enough to have played the tournament here before -- no one in the field is -- but he should be familiar with the design. There is a rumor that he even went to college nearby.

Win McMurry

Pick: Brandt Snedeker
Sneds has been streaky since his T3 at the Masters, but he did tie for ninth at the US Open and had another impressive finish last week at the PGA. Look for Snedeker this week to do what Boo Weekley did in Harbour Town earlier this season, successfully defend his first PGA TOUR title.

Pick: David Toms
He's quietly made 11 cuts in a row, and I like how he was swinging last week in Michigan. Toms now heads to an accuracy-over-power course that should play to his strengths, and he's one of the few players in the field who's already played a round at Sedgefield Country Club. Sign me up.

Pick: Zach Johnson
Johnson has three weeks left to show U.S. Captain Paul Azinger how much he wants to play in the Ryder Cup. He's come to Greensboro with that goal in mind. He's currently 17th in the standings right now and Azinger has said he'll look at the red-hot players for his four Captain's Picks. This would be a good place to light the spark.

Pick: David Toms
Toms almost seems like a favorite after his tie for 15th at the PGA Championship and his slight advantage in local knowledge of the new site. The question is the health of his back after a 36-hole Sunday slog last week.

Pick: Tim Clark
There's not many courses that a guy ranked 162nd in driving distance can compete on, but at 7,100 yards, Sedgefield fits the South African's game nicely. A sharp short-mid iron player like Clark will flourish this week. Collegiate golf career at North Carolina State = bonus points for the sleeper pick.
