George McNeill, Tiger Woods, Jim Furyk
Tee time:
Noon
Course: Torrey Pines (South Course) Tee No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 74
Why you should watch: Well, let's see, Tiger's 2008 debut at a course he dominates, paired with a 13-time winner coming off back-to-back top 20s and the 2006 q-school medalist who is searching for his second TOUR win and a little bit more validation. Plus, it's a LIVE@ weekend, which means your productivity for the remainder of this week is pretty much shot.

Yeah, you're right. Not much to see here, is there?

Brandt Snedeker, Hunter Mahan, Vijay Singh
Tee time:
11:50 a.m.
Course: Torrey Pines (South Course) Tee No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 33
Why you should watch: At least for now, Snedeker, the reigning TOUR rookie of the year, seems to be avoiding the sophomore jinx. He posted a top-10 at Kapalua and currently leads the TOUR in three-putt avoidance. Mahan, coming off a career season in 2007, kicked off his 2008 with a top-five at the Mercedes-Benz Championship.

And Vijay is, well, Vijay.

Rory Sabbatini, Boo Weekley, Todd Hamilton
Tee time:
Noon
Course: Torrey Pines (South Course) Tee No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 7
Why you should watch: This is one of those pairings where you wish you could be a fly on the wall. Actually, you could probably say that in any pairing that features Weekley, the likeable, outspoken southern boy from the Florida panhandle.

That notwithstanding, Weekley is playing well. He finished T8 last week at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. Sabbatini is also in the midst of a good run. He was second at the Sony Open in Hawaii and was 17th at Kapalua.

Sabbatini 23 18 1 2 3 10 13 69.74

K.J. Choi, Phil Mickelson, Jeff Maggert
Tee time:
11:50 a.m.
Course: Torrey Pines (South Course) Tee No. 1
Total TOUR wins: 43
Why you should watch: Mickelson says he's feeling better three days on antibiotics and bed rest, so it'll be interesting to see how good he really feels. Choi held off Sabbatini to win the Sony Open earlier this month, so you know he's playing well.

Maggert is also off to a solid start in '08, making the cut in each of his first two starts of the season.

2007 Stat Comparision
Player Events Cuts Made 1st 2nd 3rd Top 10 Top 25 Scoring Avg.
Choi 25 21 2 1 -- 7 17 69.61
Mickelson 22 16 3 1 2 7 11 69.42
