Players, celebs talk football

With this week's FBR Open taking place at the same time the Super Bowl is going on in the same town, many in the PGA TOUR community have Sunday's big game on their minds.

AARON BADDELEY
"I'm learning about it. I enjoy watching good quarterbacks because you can kind of see how they sort of control the field. Like I love watching Brady play because he seems like he's always calm, cool and collected and knows exactly what he's trying to do every time. I like watching Romo, so I'm learning about the game. I always like to sit with someone who knows about the game so I can ask them questions about what you can and can't do. I'm definitely starting to enjoy the game a lot more than I did."

BRIAN GAY
"I was hoping my Cowboys would make it and I would definitely try to go, but now it doesn't interest me that much."

TREVOR IMMELMAN
"Well, I think I'd like to see the Patriots win purely because it might never happen again, and it would be something that I've seen in my lifetime. But you never know."

PHIL MICKELSON
"I don't have a pick. I don't plan on going. If the Chargers were going to be there I would be going. I think it's pretty obvious what's going to happen (laughter)."

GEOFF OGILVY
"I'm an interested observer, I really am. I started to really enjoy weekends in the fall especially because we're not playing as much golf in the fall maybe as we were before. I'm watching quite a lot more of it. Yeah, I'm getting quite into it. I guess my NFL team would have to be the Cardinals because I live here and that's the only game I've ever been to, is a Cardinals game. They're fun to watch. I watch a lot of college football. My wife is from Texas and she went to school at Texas Tech so Big 12 football is on the TV every Saturday. I just enjoy watching it, it's a fun game. I'm looking for this to be a fun Super Bowl."

KENNY PERRY
"Patriots are going to get after the '72 Dolphins."

JEFF QUINNEY
"I'd say the Patriots are going to win but I don't think they're going to cover the spread. I think they're going to win. They're just too tough."

EMMITT SMITH (Played Wednesday's pro-am)
"I think it should be a good game. You have the Giants' defense that's pretty solid, and obviously New England is one of the best teams I've ever seen. Should be a great match-up."

BRANDT SNEDEKER
"I've got to go with the Giants. I'm going to pick the underdog. I'm hoping that (Michael) Strahan and (Osi) Umenyiora here go after them, you know?"

"Well, you've got to go with the guys that haven't lost all year."
