By simply looking at the scorecard and yardage book, one would not expect much excitement from the 162-yard par 3 that is the 16th hole of the Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale during the FBR Open. The hole is relatively short by TOUR standards, with a large green surrounded by five small bunkers.
What makes this hole so daunting during the event is the sheer magnitude -- and decibel level -- of the gallery. Players enter through a tunnel and are greeted with cheers, college fight songs, and national anthems. There is no hole quite like this at any other event on the PGA TOUR.
