Most Difficult Hole
The par-4 434-yard 13th
The hardest hole in 2007 and throughout the three-year history of the event, the tough par-4 13th hole poses quite a challenge for the Nationwide Tour players. A creek bisects the fairway 260 yards from the tee, so the player may be forced to decide whether to lay up or go for it. The second shot is all uphill into a green that's firm and undulating.
2007: 0 eagles, 23 birdies, 252 pars, 144 bogeys, 18 double bogeys and 2 others.
Easiest hole in 2007
The par-5 522-yard 3rd
No. 3 is a par 5 that has a dogleg left from the tee. A player is meant to hit the green in two after a long drive but, if the tee shot travels to the left or right, that will give the golfer a difficult lie for their second shot. The greens are small and hard to hold, which is what makes the hole tough.
2007: 11 eagles, 214 birdies, 189 pars, 21 bogeys, 4 double bogeys, 0 others.

Course origins
Since 1916, golfers have enjoyed the traditional Donald Ross layout at Irondequoit Country Club. While many Ross designed courses have had their layouts modified, Irondequoit is one of very few in the world that has remained true to the original design specifications. The course offers rolling hills and picturesque views throughout all 18 holes.
Donald Ross was commissioned to build the front nine in the hilly terrain near Rochester. He made a 3,100-yard tract with three par 3s, three par 4s and three par 5s. The back nine was later created when land was purchased from the famous Oak Hill Country Club, which sits next to Irondequoit Country Club.
Over the years, the course has played host to a variety of amateur and professional events. These include U.S. Amateur Qualifiers, U.S. Open Qualifiers, Pro-Ams, and most recently, the Xerox Classic. -- Source: Golf Course Superintendents Association of America
