| Most Difficult Hole |
 |
The par-4 431-yard 10th This long par 4 doglegs to the right and has a pond in play off the tee on the right side and it's difficult to try to cut the corner. It's also one of hardest drives for half the field because it's their opening tee shot. It has a fairly sloping green with a small pond on the left side. 2007: 0 eagles, 54 birdies, 254 pars, 89 bogeys, 18 double bogey, 7 others. |
| Easiest hole in 2007 |
 |
The par-5 536-yard fourth This is a straightway par-5 with a bunker on the right side off the tee. Most of the pros can carry that bunker now. They hit into a fairly open green -- most pros will be hitting probably 5 or 6 iron in there -- and it usually plays a little downwind so it's a really good chance for a birdie. 2007: 22 eagles, 230 birdies, 155 pars, 14 bogeys, 1 double bogeys and 0 others. |

| Course origins |
Midland Country Club was originally designed as a 9-hole golf course with sand greens in downtown Midland. The club's current 18-hole championship test of golf was designed by Ralph Plummer in 1953. The contemporary changes by Ault, Clark and Associates in 1988 accentuate the traditional influences of the Plummer era, making the golf course a truly unique experience.
|
President George W. Bush and former president George H. W. Bush were both members of Midland Country Club when they lived in Midland, and have on occasion returned to play the course.

| Other notable members include golf announcer and LPGA Hall of Fame member Judy Rankin and Don Evans, former U.S. Secretary of Commerce. -- Source: Golf Course Superintendents Association of America |
